What is Tinting?

Glass tinting is a term given to any process which by altering the glass itself or by covering it with special films reduce the passage of light.

Glass tinting is used to reduce the glare of light, reduce specific sun radiation range like harmful ultra violet (UV) or infra red (IR) in order to make the inside more comfortable.

It is used also to increase privacy by reducing visible light passage or making mirror effect from the outside of the window.

For car windows tinting special films are used. The film is placed on the window glass on the inside surface. The process is not very complicated but requires know-how and experience.

There are mainly three grades of glass tinting using films. They indicate how much light is allowed to pass through tinted window:

  • Light 50 %
  • Medium 20%
  • Limo 5%
